According to the abstract posted by the World Intellectual Property Organization: "A method, equipment and system for offloading network traffic are disclosed in the present invention, which are applied to the field of mobile communication. An offloading equipment before a Serving General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) Support Node (SGSN) receives user data streams transmitted by a base station, obtains an offloading policy for a user, and forwards the data streams according to the offloading policy; wherein obtaining the user-based offloading policy includes obtaining the offloading policy for the user from the offloading equipment itself and/or obtaining the offloading policy for the user from a policy server. Use of each embodiment of the present invention enables the offloading equipment to obtain the corresponding offloading policies according to the data streams transmitted by a forwarding plane, transmit the data streams of low value, low real-time requirement or low priority level to Internet or other particular networks, and transmit the data streams of high value, high real-time requirement or high priority level to the equipments with high value such as SGSN, Gateway GPRS Support Node (GGSN) and Value-Added Server (VAS) and so on, thus reducing the cost of establishing network."
