Fed: Women to protest today over GST on sanitary products

CANBERRA, Feb 25 AAP - The federal government's imposition of the GST on sanitary products
will come under the spotlight again today as women's groups stage a national day of action
against the tax.

Women's Electoral Lobby president Erica Lewis said women were angry that sanitary items
would be taxed after July 1.

"Women are livid about this imposition of the GST on sanitary products and many believe
it amounts to discrimination against women," Ms Lewis said.
